Need to know how much to budget for your new concrete slab? Simply slide the below calculator for an approximate figure.
The below calculator is for plain grey concrete, and earthworks is not included. This is because earthworks change dramatically for each block depending on slope, drainage, what material is currently there, etc.

Having trouble estimating how big your area is?
To calculate the area to be concreted, simply times the length of the area, by the width.
i.e. a 10m long driveway which is 4m wide, would be 40m2.
In general, a driveway is usually about 3m wide.
A single garage is usually 3m x 6m (18m2).
A double garage is usually 6m x 6m (36m2).
For a very rough estimate for earthworks, it’s best to budget about $2,500 per day. This will include a truck, excavator and bobcat, tip fees, and 2 men for the day (one operator and one labourer).
Relatively level sites up to about 60m2, will generally take 1-2 days of earthworks.
You will also need to allow for tip fees if you need to remove any dirt, old concrete driveways, bricks, etc.
